For the ones who want more than just a pretty picture.
I’m Tony Hogrefe — U.S. Marine, Somalia and Iraq War veteran, and the photographer behind Brass & Glass Studio. I am not the typical “lifestyle photographer.” If you’re looking for light airy fluff on the beach in matchy match outfits, I’m not your guy. There are plenty of photographers out there that do that, I’m just not one of them.
My style is fashion/editorial with a flair for the dramatic. My ideal client isn’t looking for a photograph that says, “this is what I look like,” they’re looking for a portrait that says, “This is who I am.” My goal with each session is to create a timeless heirloom portrait that is so good that in 100 years, it will adorn your great grandchildren’s mantle rather than be lost to the ages along with the meaningless fluff you scroll passed every day.
For some, that means showing strength forged through adversity. For others, it’s capturing quiet confidence, deep connection, or unfiltered joy. Whether it is whimsy, strength, or stoicism, if it is real, I wanna photograph it.
In a market full of airy edits and empty smiles, I create bold, emotive portraits shaped by intention and light. If you're drawn to images that feel like they have something to say…
…you're in the right place.
